The Big EZ remote is simple to program and can operate two devices at once, such as your set-top box and television. The remote is pre-programmed to work with Comcast’s Motorola set-top boxes and Digital Transport Adapters (DTAs). Comcast provides this device for our customers and offers help and support for using it, though we do not manufacture it ourselves. The remote control requires installation of four new AA batteries (included). 

Please note that the Big EZ remote is currently the only large-button remote offered by Comcast, and does not yet work with the X1 DVR/set-top box or Cisco set-top box equipment.

Programming Your Large-Button Remote

The Big EZ remote is pre-programmed to work with your set-top box or DTA and television; however, if you need to program your remote a second time, follow these simple steps:

  1. Look up the manufacturer of your TV in the Device Codes section of the Big EZ remote manual (enclosed). Make note of the associated three-digit manufacturer code.
  2. Turn on your TV.
  3. On your remote, press and hold the TV key (upper left) and the Power key (upper right) at the same time for five seconds. You will see the red indicator light turn on above the TV key.
  4. Enter your three-digit manufacturer code. Once entered, your TV should turn off. If your TV did not turn off, please enter your three-digit manufacturer code again.
  5. After your TV has turned off, press the TV key again. If the programming worked correctly, the red indicator light will blink twice.
