Every month, we curate a unique build designed to teach you fundamental concepts of electronics, hardware prototyping, and circuit logic. Inside your box you'll find:
Find a clean, well-lit table. Grab your breadboard, jumper wires, and 9V battery from your Starter Pack (highly recommended for display builds!).
Use the component list in your guidebook to organize your parts. Group your resistors, capacitors, and semiconductors before starting.
Place components onto the breadboard row-by-row. Remember that breadboard rows (A-E and F-J) are connected horizontally, while power rails are connected vertically.
Connect your 9V battery clip. If your project doesn't power up right away, double-check polarity of your LEDs (longer leg is positive) and transistor orientations.
Resistors use colored bands to indicate their resistance value. Use our interactive tool below to decode any 4-band resistor in your kit!
